By using Mouse-Jiggler.com you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
1. The service
Mouse-Jiggler.com provides a free, browser-based tool that displays a moving pattern intended to keep an optical mouse - and therefore the computer it is connected to - registering activity. The site also publishes articles and guides about related topics.
The tool runs entirely in your own browser. We do not install software on your device, and using the tool does not modify your computer's settings.
2. No account required
The site is available without registration. We do not issue accounts, and there is no subscription or paid tier.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site in a way that breaches any law that applies to you;
- use the tool on a device you are not authorised to use, or in a way that breaches the policies of the organisation that owns the device;
- attempt to interfere with, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or the server it runs on;
- copy substantial parts of the site's content for republication (see section 6);
- scrape or automate access in a way that degrades the service for others.
4. Your responsibility on devices you do not own
Many people use these tools on a computer provided by an employer. Whether that is permitted is determined by that organisation's IT, security and HR policies, not by us. It is your responsibility to know and follow the rules that apply to your device and your employment. We do not encourage using this or any other tool to misrepresent working hours or to circumvent a security control you are subject to.
5. No warranty
The site and the tool are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. In particular, we do not guarantee that:
- the tool will prevent your computer from sleeping, dimming or locking in every configuration - some policies cannot be affected by mouse activity at all;
- the site will be available without interruption or free of errors;
- instructions in our articles will match your exact operating system version, since vendors change menus and defaults over time.
6. Intellectual property
All text, code, layout, graphics and the site logo are the property of Mouse-Jiggler.com unless stated otherwise. You may quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the original page. You may not republish articles in whole or in substantial part, on any medium, without written permission.
Product names and trademarks mentioned in articles - including Windows, macOS, Microsoft Teams, Slack and others - belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and description only. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.
7. Third-party links and advertising
The site contains links to third-party websites and displays third-party advertising. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it. Following an external link is at your own discretion, and the privacy practices of the destination site are governed by its own policies.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site or the tool - including but not limited to lost work, lost data, an interrupted render or download, disciplinary consequences arising from your use of the tool on a managed device, or damage to a screen or device used to run it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes
We may update the site, the tool, or these terms at any time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the date shown at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law of your own country of residence.
